1ST DAY: (Sunday) RIO DE JANEIRO
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport. Arrival in Rio de Janeiro. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight.
2ND DAY: (Monday) RIO DE JANEIRO
Breakfast. In half day city tour we first ride to the top of Corcovado Hill by train where we have a great panoramic view of the city. Later we continue to Tijuca forest, which is the biggest urban forest in South America. Drive by Barra da Tijuca and the southern Rio beaches. Return to the hotel. Rest of the day is free. Overnight.
3RD DAY: (Tuesday) RIO DE JANEIRO/Foz do IGUAÇU
Breakfast. Transfer to airport. Arrival in Foz do Iguaçu. Transfer to the hotel. In the Brazilian side, half day Iguaçu Falls tour. The Iguaçu Falls were discovered by Alvar Nuñez Cabeza de Vaca. They form one of the most spectacular natural show in the world. They encounter in a National Park of 300.000 hectars between the Brazilian and Argentinian borders. Besides that, in that area we have Itaipu, one of the biggest dams in the world. Overnight. |

4TH DAY: (Wednesday) Foz do IGUAÇU
Free day in bed and breakfast. Possibility to make some optional tour like the visit of the Argentinian side of the falls. Overnight.
5TH DAY : (Thursday) Foz do IGUAÇU / CUIABA
Breakfast. Transfer to airport. Arrival in Cuiaba. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight.
6TH DAY: (Friday) CUIABA / PANTANAL
Breakfast. Transfer to the Pousada Rio Mutum, passing through the small village of Mimoso, where Candido Rondon was born. Arrival at the Pousada at dinner time (reception with welcome drink). After dinner the facilities of the Pousada as well as the program for the next days will be presented.
7TH DAY: (Saturday) PANTANAL
After breakfast: ecological hiking tour through the wilderness of the Pantanal, visiting some settlements of the native “caboclos” with their palm thatched huts. People's hospitality will provide you with a lot of impressions of your lives together with a very stimulating drink of genuine “guarana”.
Lunch at the lodge and after lunch: Horse trekking through typical Pantanal landscapes. Reception at a Fazenda that is situated at the lake Sia Mariana, to watch the unforgettable sunset. People will return from there by boat. On the way back there is an opportunity of Piranha fishing. Dinner.
8TH DAY: (Sunday) PANTANAL / CUIABÁ / MANAUS
After breakfast transfer to Cuiabá Airport and departure. Arrival in Manaus. Overnight.
9TH DAY: (Monday) MANAUS / AMAZON CLIPPER
Breakfast. Departure from landing-stage at 14:30h. Presentation on board of staff, route and facilities.
Welcome drink. Navigation past Manaus to the Xiborena region. Canoe trip in smaller creeks to see life on the flood plains: jute, market-garden produce, rubber trees, as well as flood plain forest and lakes with giant water lilies (in season). This trip returns after sunset, so that we can observe night life, including caimans. Navigations up the Amazon (the upper part of it called Solimões by the natives) to lake Janauaca. Dinner on the way.
10TH DAY (Tuesday):AMAZON CLIPPER
Early morning canoe trip for bird-watching. There are good chances of seeing Hoatzins and large flocks of Egrets and Cirmorants. Breakfast. Visit to the inhabitants of the lake who live from manioc plantations, fishing, diverse fruit trees, rubber, Brazil-nut trees, wood and other extractive products. Walk in the forest with commentaries by the specialist. Lunch. Navigation. Fishing for piranhas and other types of fish. Dinner. Night trip to watch nocturnal animals, sometimes including night-hawk, snakes, toro-rats, sloths and frogs. Navigation downstream on the Amazon.
11TH DAY (Wednesday): AMAZON CLIPPER - MANAUS
Early morning bird-watching trip in the Janauary Ecological Park and nearby waterways. Breakfast. Navigation to the "Meeting of the Waters". Observation. Navigation back to Manaus with views of the floating docks, market, old custom house and houses on stilts, to the Hotel Tropical landing-stage arriving at 11:30 am. End of services. |
